The Lowry Park Zoo is a zoological park in Tampa, Florida. It is best noted as one of the top rated zoos in the US. It was also just recently voted as the #1 zoo in the country by US Parents Magazine and Child Magazine.

The Lowry Park Zoo opened in 1957. It originally shared the venue with Fairyland, which was a theme park that had concrete statues that tell of fairy tales and nursery rhymes as their main attractions. The zoo grew as time went by and even managed to recover from being dubbed as one of the worst zoos in the country to the best one.

The Lowry Park Zoo now houses over 1700 animals. There are also some children’s rides on the site like a merry go round, a mini roller coaster, and a skyride, just to name a few.
