The Matheson Museum is a local history museum complex in Gainesville, Florida. It features four sites, packed with interesting items and information that tell of the area?s local history and heritage.

The Matheson Museum is named after the Matheson House, although, the historic home isn?t necessarily the ?home? of the main museum?s displays. The main building is the city?s old American Legion Hall. The Matheson House is mostly used as an events venue and is open for tours by appointment only.

The Matheson Museum is also the home of the Tison Tool Museum and the Sweetwater Park. Hours of the different venues vary, and are generally open by appointment only. If you want to see all of the sites while you?re in town, make sure to arrange a schedule in advance.
