The McLarty Treasure Museum is a maritime museum in Vero Beach, Florida. It is best noted for explaining why the area where it is located is commonly known as the ?Treasure Coast?.

The McLarty Treasure Museum can be easily explained and introduced through its location?s history. Situated on the north end of the Indian River County, the site?s position is actually quite historical. It was a common route for Spanish water vessels during the summers in the 16th to 18th centuries when they travel from Mexico and South America back to Spain carrying their haul of gold and silver. One historic event took place in the area in 1715, when a fleet was wrecked by a storm off the coast of where the museum stands today.

Mostly, the McLarty Treasure Museum talks about the story of the survivors of the said event. It is also where several artifacts from the wreck are displayed.
