The Panama Canal Museum is a history museum in Seminole, Florida. It is best known for being the only museum in the planet to be ever created for the preservation of the history of the American Era of the Panama Canal which took place from 1904 to 1999.
The Panama Canal Museum recognizes the great strides achieved in the creation of the canal, which is considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World and an engineering marvel of its day. It was opened in 1997 and is designed to preserve and share the story of the completion of the Panama Canal.
Some may think that the Panama Canal Museum is quite out of place being in Seminole, but it should be noted that most of the employees of the project retired in the area, making the city the perfect location for such a venue.
