The Salvador Dali Museum is a museum in St. Petersburg, Florida that is dedicated to the works of the famous artist, Salvador Dali. It is located inside the campus of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg.

Best known for housing the largest collection of Dali’s works that is located outside of Europe, the Salvador Dali Museum started out in 1941, when collectors A. Reynolds Morse and Eleanor R. Morse started their Dali collection. In 1965, they’ve realized that they already need a permanent home for their collection, so they opened a museum in Beachwood, Ohio. By the late 1970s, they’ve decided to move the museum, and St. Petersburg became the chosen location. They opened in 1982 in Florida and then again in January 11, 2011 (1-11-11) at 11:11 am in its current location.
