The Savannas Preserve State Park is a nature preserve and state park located in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The site was created to preserve freshwater marshes or ?savannas? that were once abundant in the state of Florida.

The Savannas Preserve State Park is basically a site where you can find the last remaining savannas in Florida?s east coast. The 10 mile stretch of freshwater marshes found here is the largest and most intact remnant of this natural system, making it a very interesting site for study and research. Visitors are encouraged to go to the Environmental Education Center first, to get an introduction about the location and its current status.

Aside from the information, the Savannas Preserve State Park also gives visitors the opportunity to go wildlife viewing, picnicking, horseback riding, biking, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing.
