Known as Pinellas County’s oldest museum, the St. Petersburg Museum of History is an area museum focused on the history of the state of Florida especially the Pinellas Peninsula and St. Petersburg.

Founded in 1920 by the St. Petersburg Historical Society, the museum is one of the earliest examples of local historical preservation in area. The collections in the museum include historical documents, photographs, and even natural history artifacts.

The museum provides guided tours to groups and school tours to interested students and schools. They also facilitate community classes like summer camps. Other educational programs undertaken by the museum include youth historian programs, internships, fellowships, historical exchange programs and educator training forums.

The St. Peterbsurg Museum of History is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00am (1:00pm on Sundays) to 5:00 pm.
