Initiated to educated the local populace on the importance of the railroad in the growth of their town, the Tarpon Springs Area Historical Society has started a new class of service to their community. House in the old railroad depot, they hold many special events that honors the rich local history of Tarpon Springs and the surrounding locality.

Several areas of the museum is designed to look as they did during their time of active operation. Others are focused on several exhibits featuring the development of the area including milestones on education, health care, sanitation, and other local institutions.

The Tarpon Springs Area Historical Society train depot is open from Wednesday to Saturday at 11:00am to 4:00pm. Visitors can also experience special events such as the Annual Remembrance Tea and Annual Tour of Historic Homes if they schedule beforehand.
