The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is a performance venue in Sarasota, Florida. It is best known for its excellent location that is just by the ocean.

The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall opened in 1970. It is named after the site?s major benefactor, the local philanthropists Eugenia and Lewis Van Wezel, who donated a large sum of amount to have the site completed. The site was designed by William Wesley Peters who used seashells as his main inspiration. The color scheme idea was from Olgivanna Lloyd Wright, Frank Lloyd Wright?s widow.

Most commonly used for live musical performances, some folks prefer that the site stick to staging full band concerts instead of acoustic and unplugged sessions. Its acoustics may not be the best for such events.
