Located in St. Petersburg, Florida, the Vinoy Park Hotel was built by Aymer Vinoy Laughner in 1925. It was a seasonal hotel open from December to March, and collected the highest fees for a night?s stay in the area at $20 per night.

A popular attraction for celebrities, the Vinoy Park Hotel is actually a great landmark that has further established Florida as a vacation destination. Big names like Herbert Hoover, James Stewart, Babe Ruth, and Calvin Coolidge have stayed in its roof for at least one time or another.

Vinoy Park Hotel sported Mediterranean style architecture. It closed in the mid 1970s, became a part of the National Register of Historic Places, and was reopened and restored in the 1990s. It was recently awarded AAA four-diamond status.
