The Walton County Heritage Museum is a local museum located in the historic downtown area of DeFuniak Springs. The museum is operated by the Walton County Heritage Association.
The museum has been established in the restored DeFuniak L&N train depot. The building itself was restored by the City of DeFuniak springs for the express purpose of using it as a historical museum.
The exhibits in the museum are mostly composed of artifacts that show the history of Walton County and the surrounding area. For example, Allison?s Grocery and H&M Hotdog exhibits show the development of long standing local town businesses in the area. Artifacts including a portrait of Mrs. Allison and the spatula used to cook the first H&M hamburger.
