Kicksleds in Alaska

Does anyone out there kicksled? I'm interesting in getting to the hobby but I haven't like the models available for purchase. They seem overly expensive for the cheap construction.

The ones I've seen down at Alaska Mill & Feed seem way over priced.

Doug, I thought the same thing. I may be better off buying the tracks and building one of my own for that kind of money. :-/

If your handy in the woodshop it could be a fun project. I'll bet you can find plans on line even, but when your done you might not think them so overpriced.

So if I understand this correctly this is a seat on skis that someone pushes? Am I missing something?

Not really a seat, more like a small dogsled with no cargo basket and no dogs. Just stand on the runners and kick.
