Times Union Center Acoustics

Anyone else think the Times Union Centers Acoustics really sucks?

Can't they put up sound tiles or something? Maybe then we could get some big acts, and they would sound good.

Who's with me?

I have never been there before, but was supposed to go see TSO today. With the blizzard down here, though, we scrapped our travel plans for today. Sounds like I avoided disappointment, then, if it is that bad.

Saw Billy Joel and Elton John there and will never go back. Speakers were amped so much they cracked and it sounded awful.

I agree! When I saw Rascal Flatts a few years ago, I was really disappointed at the sound quality!!

I'm new here but I can relate to this. My experience is, the more money and the better the sound system, the better the sound.

Saw Leonard Skynard and 38 Special and it was all garbelled and sound was lousy.

Took the wife to see Elton John and it the sound wasn't bad.

Reba MacEntyre, same thing not that bad.

I think it is a matter of the sound techs doing thier job right but with top shelf equipment.

Ya, it is pretty bad.. I dont know if its all the place though. I think a lot of it is rotten mixes, and sound guys. WAY to loud, and a bad mix just creates this nasty bouncing harmonixs.

i think it depends to on where you sit for a show and what kind of show it is.
Most of these places are not designed music shows therefore there acoustics are inherently bad.
I'm sure there is some sweet spots.
I've always found right in front of the sound board isn't too bad.
Northern Lights is better if you move around and find that sweet spot.
I was there for a show and 30 feet from the stage sucked - but 45ft back and next to the bar I could hear everything much better.
IMO
