Definitely agree with that... bring something to get out and see the real AZ. Be sure to visit not only the low deserts around Phoenix but to head out through Globe and follow the scenic highway 288 through Young and up into Payson where you will pass from the high deserts into the high deserts of Arizona... pines and in many ways it looks like you are in northern Idaho except the rocks are red! Enjoy the drive... and stop and take a peak in the canyons along the way - spectacular...

Grand Canyon, mountains in Flagstaff, Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, the ability to drive from pine forest to desert in less than an hour. High speed limits, varied terrain, wild west history, and lax gun laws. I live in CA now and miss AZ.

Visited Arizona in Noveber of 04 LOVED IT!!
clear blue skys, went from LasVegas to Arizona , Winslow Flagstaff, Grand-Canyon, Monument valley, Canyon de Chelly,,,all of the NE part of the state back down to Sedona Meteor Crater ,Painted Desert , Petrified Forest,, and this is just in the North part! ,, need i say more!
