Quartzite?

My parents retired to Florida back in 1999... now they want to move to Quartzite, AZ

Does anyone have good/bad info about the area?

More importantly, where can I go 4 wheeling near there when I visit them?

Quartzsite is a Bird (as in snow) haven, it is a very small town until the birds flock in for winter. It goes from a couple thou to tens of thousands in a few days with old folks from as far as Canada east to Maine and west to Alaska. and about ANY points between. Wheeling is awesome but it is desert and temps soar well into the 100's in spring to fall. You'll wanna find out where the reservation is and stay out of there but it's a good area.

What is the primary "goods" sold at this swap meet?

I do lots of truck/Jeep swap meets and I am wondering if I could go visit my parents and do the swap meet at the same time???

The swap meet is ongoing....just a giant "flea market".......and the desert for miles around will be covered with "RV's" who are "snowbirding" for the winter season.

Here is a good look around......check it out.......

Here's a few of Quartzsite . . . (note the empty RV park)

The last pic is a mine that is still working and private property. It USED to be the town of Plomosa, AZ (ghost Town)
