Thinking of relocating to kingman

So why is the property so cheap around kingman?
What are some things to look for when I come to visit?
I am a mechanic so no to worried about finding work.
What are the building codes like in the rural areas outside of kingman?

The housing market here in Arizona flat imploded hence nice places going for fire sale prices. Note that wages in Kingman tend to be low for mechanics (I am an alignment man by trade), perhaps due to so many many techs locating there, hard to say.

Google Rte 66 and Kingman; they have a lot of activities since the Mother Road passes right through town. Too; the Hualapai Mountains are a few minutes away and don't forget about Bullhead City/Laughlin, etc.

Building codes in Mohave County are supposedly strict but probably more realistic than anywhere in California. Note that Kingman is the county seat.

I personally like the downtown section of Kingman with its pre WW II Craftsman houses.

I was planing on buying a couple acres then improve them while still working here in ca. Once everything is done move there and enjoy life and due some keeping,fishing,and hunting. Would only need 15 bucks an hour to survive and the wife is a nurse so should be no problems for mula.
Really like the looks around Dolan springs. Anyone know what the water table is out there.

Just found a two bed house in the old part of kingman for 9900 may be making an offer this week.

Anymore; $70K, tops, will get you a nice house in most of rural Arizona (and even parts of Phx) these days.

Back to Kingman: my favorite part of town definitely is the historic district along Rte 66/Andy Devine facing north.
