Thats a cheap matinee ticket! Renting from blockbuster's like a little less than $5 here, and seeing a movie is at least $8-$9!
Normally our ticket prices are around that, sometimes higher, but we went to a 4:30 showing and our theater had killer matinee prices! For half the price of a night ticket, I may just keep going early!
I wish I had time to hit matinees. One of the reasons I dislike theaters are all the people, laughing at things that aren't funny, screaming, really screaming? Come on it's a movie.
Tickets are like $10 a piece now, matinees I think $8, forget about drinks, popcorn, ect. Taking the gf to a movie ends up costing $50+ when I could just as easily stay home and watch one with her in bed.
Netflix costs me less than a single movie ticket does and I can get it instantly on my xbox or computer and the non instant stuff I can simply download.
Been told everything is more expensive in Hawaii. Makes sense, being an island and all.
Groceries and things are about the same as California, surprisingly. But a lot of entertainment-related things cost more. All in all, it kinda evens out. So not as bad as one might think.
