Yah, The Leatherstocking Tales are a total classic.
I really enjoyed reading the whole series when I was younger.

Just finished The 47th Samurai by Stephen Hunter a couple of days ago. It was good, but I found it tended to bog down on Japanese arcana. It didn't have the page shredding power and sheer in your face action and violence of his earlier novels like Point of Impact and Dirty White Boys.

I'm back on Carl Hiaasen again. Star Island, highly entertaining as always!

I've finished a few graphic novels in the while I'm reading Vlad, which I only have 100 pages left on.

Mainly Batman. I never was into comics when I was a kid, but these are something different than the typical feel good novels.

These are dark, and troubling.

It's interesting.

I find Vlad to be incredibly one sided and not full of the pain of youth he should have. In looking to rescue Radu he seems to be only compelled by the fact Mehmet holds him, and not really about reuniting with his brother.

All in all I like his writing style though, it gets a little long winded, but most authors do at some point in there books.

Even my beloved Hesse get long winded in Beneath The Wheel (Unterm Rad). Still a marvelous book though.
