What book are you reading?

I just got done reading "The Things They Carried." It's a series of stories about Vietnam that all tie in together. Really moving book. I have been threatening to pick up a copy of American Assassin, but seeing as how the waiting list for it at the library is 17 people long, I am going to buy it this weekend.

A few weeks ago I read The Gurkhas, by John Parker. A historical look at some of our more unknown and ferocious allies. Also a great read.

Was there a story in this book about the one armed guy taking out a platoon of japanese troops. Before he started he put his Gurkha in the ground and said nobody will pass this point. Then he went about kicking butt for about ten hours. It was on bad ass of the week once always wondered about that story.

I just finished Frankenstein, and just started on "Under the Dome" by ol' Stephen King. I've heard good thing - we'll see...

Frankenstein was good, but definitely had to kinda push to get through it - wasn't the most entertaining of books the entire time. Beautiful writing, though.

I just noticed that up in post #42 I mentioned it takes place in the empire of Genghis Khan, but it's actually Kublai Khan's empire you'll be reading about.

Kublai Khan? I hate Kublai Khan. He's all "I'm the grandson of one of the greatest men ever to live."
