Your Library

I love books. Anyone esle have any shots of their library at home?

I inherited this book shelf. I've had a couple of other both particle board not last me even a year. This one has endured a couple of generations.

There something to be said about that in and of itself.

Here's part of my library, which I have sadly relinquished to my sons.

I feel inadequate.

It's cool though, I can always get more.

Don't have any pictures, but I have a bookcase similar to the one you have, Austin. My dad built it 70 years ago. My wife is reading on a Nook. ugh.

How are you supposed to build your library with one of those?

I love the textile sensation of books.

I'm reading Klingsor's Last Summer to my Daughter right now, in particular "A Child's Heart" and it was given to me by my father.

The pages are yellowed, rough to the touch, it help me immerse into the experience.

Yup, I prefer hard copy also.

I like to see my books stacked on shelves and the floor, and I like it when one of my kids or one of their friends asks me if they can borrow a book, I can say help yourself.

It's hard to do that without owning the actual books

I laugh when they say borrow. I say you can keep it till you're ready to give it back.

I'm with you there. I never expect any of the books I lend out back, and I'm happy to pass them on. It frees up space for newer acquisitions.
