Trucks with supplies and Red Cross personnel are on their way to Ft. Bragg, NC from a FEMA center in Ellenwood, GA.
The article states that much has been learned since Hurricane Katrina.
It sounds like the Outer Banks will possibly take a direct hit. Hopefully evacuation is now in progress. I've always thought of the Outer Banks as rather remote and it would be difficult to get supplies in and repair damages.
It didn't sound good when a reporter described the possible gridlock on the bridges of NYC and NJ.
My friend has evacuated So FL several times and sat for hours in traffic trying to leave.
There is sufficient warning so I hope everyone is making arrangements.
