I need a jeep engine or repair shop

I have a 1999 Jeep Grand cherokee Laredo 4.0 non 4x4 that needs an new engine or if possible it needs to have the old engine rebuilt. Does anybody know of an Atlanta area repair shop?

We've always had good results with Maddox in Lawrenceville. They have only two chairs in their waiting room (so the women complain), but they have always been honest and frank. It is father/son run and we've been taking our cars and vans there for over 15 years.

It's touch finding a good shop with a great rep that knows our vehicles. I'll be watching this thread.

I also need to have my 1991 jeep wrangler 2.5 rebuilt or just replace with a new long block remanufactured . Any shop near atlanta will be great . How about Marietta,GA area. or does anybody can do an engine swap for a bigger motor?

Just curious. Have you considered installing a diesel? The power and low-end torque is great for rock-crawling. Of course, you would probably need to also swap-in a stronger transmission.

try Nelms automotive in Marietta. He has worked on my jeeps for years. I trust this place and all employees. They are branching off an off road dept. as well. They never try to upsell you and do whatever is needed to get you up and running with no pricing surprises. Well all surprises I have had is they were much cheaper than what they originally quoted. Wife's service b on her Mercedes cost over 450 last year, Nelms automotive did the same service for 220.

I used a "remanufactured" engine in my XJ and it was installed by a shop on Post Oak but can't remember the name of it at present.

Roswell outback in Roswell Ga. They do almost exclusively jeeps and they know exactly what to do and the prices are very good. Call Jeff there and he'll get you squared away!
