Let me go ahead and add my regards for Flying Saucer, if you can get in! Since I live in North Austin I stick to areas close to me. My personal favorite is the Flying Saucer, but my very close second is the Digg Pub in Cedar Park. The staff is great, incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and makes my stay there always pleasurable. Kudos to the Bartender John, he is a great guy and ALWAYS remembers my name when I come in! Tip him heavily as he knows his beer and will gladly give the best advice on what to drink. Did I mention they are cheap? Yeah, dirt cheap. Take heart though, this place is in the middle of Williamson County so that means cut yourself off at two, the police there have absolute hard-ons for tagging people with draconian DUI charges after the smallest amount of alcohol.

I also like BB Rover; the beer is good, the staff knows beer, and the food is pretty decent and cheap. Great for a quick lunch during a busy work day!

Sadly, I have never gone to the Gingerman. I know, tragic! I'm still relatively new to Austin, so I haven't gone out to hit the beer sights yet.

Not to dissuade people but cP police are known to sit in the bank parking lot next door to The Dig and watch traffic on the road. I suspect they are more interested in the sports bar across the street 9which is always in the police reports) but still..

Conveniently the windows in the Dig look out on the parking lot of the bank so you know when they leave

we'll be there tomorrow night for the (512) Barrel Aged Double Pecan porter cask

I thought I posted this, but apparently not...I didn't know Fion had that many taps, will have to keep that in mind next time I am out there.

For me, top place to have beers is Draughthouse. I have been going there for ten years and easily my favorite place. House brews are sometimes good, but I go for the solid selection of beers which has steadily been going more craft/american over the years.

As far of brewpub, I like either NXNW or Blackstar. NXNW is dependable, and their pale ale is wonderful. Blackstar is closer to me, what I have had of their beers is promising.

I hate to be negative on local places, but I cannot stand Uncle Billy's. The beer is good, but the service is horrible. Everytime I have been to get a beer/growler fill/or actual food, it has sucked.

I really want to try out reds porch and blacksheep.

I actually like Uncle Billys and they just opened a new location on Lake Travis next to The Oasis. I liked their beers and the foos I have ordered has always been pretty good.

I still like The Flying Saucer best. They have the largest selection and I love their beer brat nachos.
