85 2.5L Jeep Cherokee Carb Swap?

I would like to get better gas mileage and eliminate the O2 sensor. Has anyone done a Weber/Holley carb swap for the 2.5L Cherokee or similar? I did it for a Datsun PU once using a Pinto carb I picked up for $25.

Would it be free of any "chip" or O2 sensor interface?
