The fastest street car I had was a 1974 Camaro. It was not stock. Actually a full frame rolling road race chassis with the shell and skins of a 1974 Camaro hung on it. The last motor I built for was a 410 CU. IN. Dry sumped, solid roller camed, Hilborn fuel injected, Small Block Chevy that I run on methanol on the street. This motor dynoed out at 723 horse @ 7600 RPM peak on H&H Blue racing gas and 782 horse @ 8100 RPM peak on methanol It would turn the quarter mile real close to +/- 8.80 at 140 or so MPH and it would top out at 190 or so MPH with the 3.00 gear set in it. The thing got about 3 MPG on racing gas and about 1-1/2 MPG on Methanol. Finally, in 1984, I pulled the motor and trans out and a couple of years later sold the car. I still have the motor less the Hilborn injection and roller cam, which I had fresh machined before I "mothballed" it.

Beat a 2000ish GMC Jimmy with tinted window and stupid base booming.
his flat brim ballcap blew out the window when he looked over to see my wifes minivan blow his doors off
Seriously,I never had the chance to run at a legit track but I do have over 100k miles on the Autobahn. As a staff driver for the post commander I had the use of a Police spec. Caprice.I also had a BMW 2002 Ti and a buddy had a 735i that would cruise at 135 all day.

I was told rough times on the drag car over the weekend. It runs high 5's/low6's in the 1/4. A new motor is being built at the moment so who knows what it will be running next season.
