Jeepers, I need help with death wobble

My son's 2000 TJ just developed the death wobble. Have any of you won this battle that might be able to help us? He is a broke college kid with skills and access to my tool box.

Checked all the connectors, ends, ball joints and anything that is connected to another on the front end. Nothing was loose when we yank, jerked or tried to move with a pry bar more than I expected. Put a few more pumps of grease in anything that had a zerk fitting. Then we pulled the shock looking steering stabilizer. I could grab the two ends and move it in and out like playing an accordion. Went to Advance Auto, they had about 8 models to choose from std, good, better, best. We bought the Rancho model on the high end of the middle for about $60. Holding one end between my feet it took a lot of effort to move this in and out. Death Wobble is gone (for now).

Its not gone, ya just cant feel it with the new stabilizer on. Steering stabilizers dont fix problems with steering just hide them. With that said I hide mine with a stabilizer because its hard to completely balance 36" bias tires on beadlocks.

What speeds does his death wobble happen in?

Thats usually tire balancing. You also may want to check the toe in. I set mine for 1/8th in but I hear the practice now is to run about an 1/8th out.

Thannks guys but the jeeps is gone in favor of a car that gets 30 mpg. But that car was totalled in 5 days and replaced with another.
