I'm working on putting this '47 Diamond T 509 body on a '79 Dodge Power Wagon chassis. Here is a few pics. The last one is how we found it in the bone yard, they were getting ready to send it to the crusher.
It's almost done. Getting ready to build the body mounts, then it's just a matter of hooking everything up. That's not primer, it's the farm field rust it came with from Spearfish, S.D. it's going to stay like that, I love the rusty look! There is no rot at all on the body.
I had a 54 chevy. It was so worn out I had to hang an old pair of tenner shoes from the shifter to keep it from jumping out of 3rd gear. I had a pair of wires I would short out to turn the brake lights on. The front fenders would look like they were flapping like wings at 40 MPH. It had a utility body on it, it was so rusted out when you placed something in the top compartment it would fall to the ground. Man I would like to have that truck back. Sold for $75 in 1969.
