My tow rig:

2006 2500HD, 6.0 gasser, torsion bars cranked to level it out, 285s. Those are Cooper STTs, but they wore out and I'm running BFG ATs now.

Someone was asking about STTs earlier - they are louder than the BFG ATs, but not "too loud" (for me, anyway, but I'm running Baja Claws on my jeep). It was a nice hum that helped my sons sleep on long rides when they were under 3 years old.

Nice truck!

That would have been me asking about the STT's Still haven't decided on what tire I'm going with for my Duramax but my BFG a/t's are just about at the end of their life so I will need to decide come winter.

How was the tread wear on the STT's? How many miles on them and were they rotated frequently? I appreciate the info.

My 90 Bronco. 351w, E4OD, stock open D44 & 8.8 axles, 33s.
El Mirage poser.

Gold Mountain.

And my very rough 73 Bronco. 351m, 3 speed, D44 & 9" axles, 35s.
I need to get this thing squared away & out of the driveway at some point.

non Jeep? Nah!

Guys, even Skoda make a 4x4 now (not much bigger than a mini) so unless you're going to run a Range Rover or a Q7, like the man said: "Why?"

They had about 25k on them when I got rid of them. Probably still had about 5k left on them. I did run them a little high, because I was too lazy to raise the air pressure when I was towing, then lower it back down when I wasn't. That probably cost some mileage. I rotated them 3 times. They were only load range C, though, and I always was nervous pulling. I never had any "problems" with them in bad weather, but I'm not bashful about using 4WD if the roads are covered. Oh, and I drive my truck like it's a rental.

All told, I was pretty happy with them, and would have considered them again if they offered a load range E. But I never take the truck "off-road" (although many of our roads here in WV are offroading to a lot of people), so don't really need that aggressive of a tire.
