Volkswagen Airbag Light is on

Anyone have any ideas? I've heard that it could be the weight sensor in the seat, but all of the connectors appear to be good. Could it be anything else??? I have a 2002 GTI 1.8T...

Could be anything... there is a PODS unit in the pas seat, bolth front seat belts, all the airbags, and a control unit, and clockspring, and harnesses.... Has the car been hit, or in a accedent at all?? the VW airbag system is very complacated.

never been wrecked... just came on out of the blue. I've never disconnected anything or taken the seats out or anything. Just a random joy of owning a VW.

I'm actually convinced that my Check Engine Light must have burned out because it hasn't come on in at least a month.
