did you put in the ford idi or maybe a cummins swap? i sold my '89 250 idi to my dad a couple months ago. loved it but i didnt need it

I put in a 7.3 idi out of an old school bus, found out my old engine had a cracked block (maybe that's why it wouldn't start)

i dont know how schooled up you are on those idi's but they are super sensitive about their coolant. make sure you use coolant that has sca's already added (the additives you can add your self are a pain in the ass) i loved my idi, but it had 4.10's and it was pretty tached out at freeway speeds. sold it for 7k though, so i cant complain

Yeah, the 7.3's have a big problem with the coolant eating pin hole in the cylinders walls if you don't keep an eye on the SCA, I really wanted to find an 85 or later 6.9 but I couldn't be to picky.


And I want 4:10's!

My truck has 3:55's and 37's

That's gonna suck.

haha ya an idi without the proper gearing cant pull a stick out of the mud

I saved the stock CJ shock mounts before they rotted off the frame. Ground off the rust, drilled drain holes, treated with converter and 2 heavy coats of Rustolium semi gloss, new hardware..
