Honeymoon at Niagara Falls

Can anyone recommend which hotel to stay at on the Canadian side, fallsview?

I'm almost sold on Embassy but wanted to hear some locals opinions.

I'm no local, but the Embassy is beautiful. My wife and I spent our honeymoon there in 2007. The whirlpool suites are beautiful.. spacious rooms separated into 2 sections... living room and bedroom. Jacuzzi in the bathroom opens up into the bedroom and there are great views of the falls. The restaurant in the hotel was great. There is (or was in 07) a great nightclub across the street called the Copacabana. The Fallsview casino is right next door... 2 minute walk. The falls are a short walk down the hill. Clifton Hill is about a 15 minute walk IIRC... the most Touristy section of the city (tons to do). There is a great haunted house at the top of the hill...Nightmares Fear Factory. The whirpool/jet boat section of the falls is a short drive away if you'll have a car, as well as the winery section. I highly recommend taking a day trip to Toronto if you have access to a car. The view from the top of the CN tower alone is worth it. Niagara Falls is a great honeymoon destination IMHO.. Can't wait to go back on our 5th anniversary.

The Canadian side of the falls has so much to offer compared to the american side. If you have a car a drive along the river from Niagara Falls to Ft. Erie canada is also very nice. alot of very nice houses some almost estates lots of great little park areas. The american side should be pushed into the river and started over, they just don't get it.

Thanks for the replies. We are driving up from Maryland so transportation isn't an issue.

Do you guys gave any recommendations on where to eat. It can be anywhere from a greasy spoon to a really nice restaurant.

I thought the restaurant in the hotel "The Keg" was really nice. It has window seats with falls views if you're lucky to snag one on a busy night. Food was excellent and they had a big wine list. The Hard Rock Cafe is a good bet for lunch if you're in the Clifton Hill section. There are a few chains nearby the hotel, as well as the restaurants in the casino nextdoor. When we checked in to the hotel they gave us coupons for 2 free drinks at the lounge/bar outside the restaurant.. ask if they're still doing that. Its a cool place to hang out and unwind after that long drive without leaving the hotel.. it has a great 4 or so story high ceiling with the elevators exposed on one wall. Cool space to have a drink or 2 before dinner.
