The 91 freeway westbound through Anaheim runs along side the Santa Ana. It is still an active bike trail, and though I have never done it, I was told you can run it straight to the ocean.

Also the Prado dam is right there by the 71 holding back alot of the Santa Ana.

I actually fish the Santa Ana river quite a bit but I do it up towards Big Bear and Seven Oaks, they plant it with rainbow trout but the have native german browns.

Many years ago I studied at UCR. Each of the pedestrian crossing signs on campus had been customized (for instance, the one near the Botany Dept was carrying a plant, the one near the Soil Sciences Dept was carrying a shovel) Are they still like that?

I'll have to check. I'm not sure. I don't think I've even looked at them, but that would be cool.

If there ever was a poster child for the Clean Air Act, Riverside is it. In the 60's we could see Mt. Baldy nearly everyday, by the 70's abou 10 days a year, now not nearly as bad. I see it at least half the time I visit.
