Young couple looking to move to San Diego- need help!

My hubby and I are looking to move to San Diego this summer and have NO idea where to start looking. Everyone's saying it's super expensive- but I'm not seeing it. Everything I'm finding is from 700-1100$ but maybe this a bad area? Anyways we want a nice but cheap place to get started.. Also we'd like to know the best places for a young couple who don't like to drivetoo much could live. Is everywhere near the beach? Thank you!!!!!

Is there a good website to find apartments on? We don't know anyone there. Is north side still young? Thanks for your reply

What do you do for a living? Have you a job scouted out already?

I'll probably try to transfer within my company, but if I can't I do administration/billing/collections.

Just that connection to her youth, and perhaps the the political environment. This area is quite beautiful and laid back, but a bit red neck if you get my driftin'! Have you been looking at the areas craiglist too for places?
