How about good ol' RUSH ?
And "kings of indie", Arcade Fire?
It's good to hear about bands or singers being known outside of the country. I mean, how much Celine Dion can we take?

My favourite new group is a Canadian super group, Crash Karma. Featuring a couple friends of mine, Jeff Burrows of The Tea Party and Mike Turner of Our Lady Peace. They have Evan of I Mother Earth singing for them. If you get a chance, check them out, they'll be winning an award in the upcoming Juno awards for sure.

Yah. I added the tags for your two bands. And speaking of Our Lady Peace, they were Canadian too

Agree The Hip and The Guess Who / BTO / Burton Cummings, whatever the heck they are calling them selves these days.

One cant forget Johnny Cash once lived in LaRonge SK, as well as Joni Mitchell,

Eat-A-Big-Meal and anne murray are not on the list

You guys rock. Tons of good links here. Cheers!

My love is the Canadian Music festivals. Minidosa rock party in Manitoba is sweet.. pemberton in BC (and of course SHAMBALA if your into Electronic madness) ness creek in Saskatchewan is super fun.

Montreal in general has a super music scene.
