I have repaired the problem on the clutch pedal by mounting a bar to one of the bolts holding the master cylinder to the firewall (underneath the dash) bending it up and over the arm of the clutch pedal and midway down the other side of the arm. This way the pedal cannot go up past a certain height, preventing it from falling out of the firewall. I could have gone out and bot a new master cylinder where as the piece that holds the push rod into the master cylinder would be new and that would have also repaired it.. My way was cheaper and works perfectly.. the gears engage a little higher now.

Isnt there an automotive section on this forum that may benefit from your automotive wisdom?
