As I sit here writing this, we are getting yet more snow in and around this province. I am sure that, like me, you all are getting pretty tired of winter and would like to start to get out and either go camping, fishing or just enjoying the outdoors as only the warmer summer months can give.
As I look at the weather situation across the country and the continent I see that there is snow and bad weather everywhere. Tornados in the south that have started earlier than the norm, 20 to 40 cm of snow in places that at this tome of year should gave flowers blooming and such.
Not sure where I am going with this post maybe just venting about the length of the winter, oh well I am sure that if I leave all the snow that's in my driveway long enough, it will eventually melt and go away. (or maybe not?)
It's barely brushed freezing since January 10th. Days are 50ish to sixties. Nights are around 40.
Last year cool wet weather persisted through the whole Summer. This year is looking like a twin of last year. Weatherman says gardens here are usually planted in mid-May but this year they suggest waiting till Father's Day in June.
I've had pots out for weeks. My pansies won't thrive but they easily tolerate these temps. Other shade loving plants are doing fine.

but the snow is gone and the crocuses are blooming.
We had that by the 10th of January. Not cold (50ish days) but almost no sun till now. 33 days in a row of rain and more followed by counting became depressing.
I don't mind rain mixed with some sun. Last night at 11PM the same bozo who said lows of 39 all week announced a flash freeze to 28 degrees. Fortunately the man knows NOTHING.
