What about McPhee's in Templeton?

I love to go wine tasting and hit McPhee's for a post tasting event.

I too have to agree with McClintocks on the 101 or Higuera in SLO.The one in town SLO is very small, though good atmoshere.

When I lived in Fresno we would go over to McClintock's all the time-great steaks. Alex BBQ off the 101 on the way to Santa Maria is also good(assuming it's still around since I have not been there in over 4 years.)

I second both of these recs. lotsa good food at both places! Far Western will be moving to Orcutt near the end of 2011.

Mcphee's is not a steak house per se, but they have excellent food and a real nice atmosphere.

Another good steak house is the Paso Robles Inn on Spring Street across from the park.

I know it's not a steak house but Lynn's in Cambria serves Hearst Ranch beef. The steak I had their was excellent. Not sure of what they carry in adult beverages but their desserts are off the hook.
