Where to retire

I'm thinking of retiring to Chattanooga but don't have real experience there. Are there any areas with crime that one should avoid?

Well. That's a loaded question. No pun intended!
Any answer may offend someone.

If you're looking for cheap taxes then one of the rural counties around Chattanooga/Hamilton County would be best.

If you're looking at a condo, there are plenty around East Brainerd, Hixson, Middle Valley areas. Each has its good and bad neighborhoods.

The "north shore" also has alot of condos and secure parking. Puts you close to everything happening down town

maybe getting a house out by the harrison lake. i have lived there forever and never heard of anything going on.
