There's no way I could sit for all three movies!
All three Back to the Future movies will be shown in a row beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, at Rave Florence, Milford and Western Hills and Cinemark Oakley.
There were about 20 people at Rave Western Hills when I saw Psycho this afternoon.
My only real question about the film is why did it have an R rating? The movie was released in 1960, 10 years before the MPAA system began, and it has been shown unedited on over-the-air and cable television a bazillion times since the late 1960s. I was just as surprised earlier this summer when Jaws kept its PG rating from 1975 when it would undoubtedly be PG-13 now. I would think, at the most, that Psycho would be PG-13.
I've seen the movie before, obviously. Watching it commercial-less in the theater makes you realize that the first half is not only more famous, scene by scene, but it also moves a little more quickly than the second half.
I snickered quite a few times, but I was the only person in the audience who did. After you watch Psycho a few times you realize that some of the lines are double-entendres and are pretty funny! Did I just have a sick sense of humor compared to the others in the theater? Had the others not watched the movie before? Was I the only one there with a sense of humor?
On the other hand, the shower scene IS graphic, even though you actually see very little!
The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966) will be shown for free at the Ohio Theatre in Madison at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. http://www.ohiotheatremadison.com/
