No particular times to avoid. All the seasons have their advantages. Consider taking the cog railway out of Manitou Springs instead of the auto road. Lots of fun.

The Cog is always nice. I'd say if you are taking guests, if there is a week day you find time for I would pick that over the weekend to avoid the bigger crowds.

Pikes Peak is open year round, minus storms. However, the Cog is the about the only way to go in the winter. Check out the cog railway in the link below.

Pike's Peak Cog Railway - The world's highest cog railroad, the highest Colorado railroad AND highest train in the United States.

Not pikes peak, but near it.

Seven Falls is 7 water falls. At night it is really cool. They are covered in ice and each one is lit up with a different color. There are alot of steps, so be careful.

Helen Hunt Falls is a small waterfall with a small hike to the top.

Great place to take out of towners.

Don't you mean "Seven Falls?" Helen Hunt Falls is small and totally different.

Yep. You are correct. I must be losing my mind. Seven falls is lit up at night and is bigger. Helen Hunt falls is just a little water fall with a small hike to the top.
