I agree, the Telluride/Ouray area just can't be beat in terms of scenery and challenges.

I'd have to say Kelly Flats but it's not very challenging. Sevenmile would be the next one I believe.

My vote is on Spring Creek....Class 7 trail right outside of Idaho Springs. It's a pretty good challenge for my Grand Cherokee.

lamartine road

On my second time jeeping, we did Spring Creek and got stuck coming down Saxon road around Georgetown. That was pretty cool, but next time I'll choose something without as many shelf road switchbacks. We also went around St Marys Galcier. I'm addicted after just the first taste. Can't wait to go back.

Wait, you got all the way through Spring creek but stuck on Saxon? A honda civic could get through saxon.

Not stuck, like didn't make it, more like didn't plan on taking that road out of the mountains. My wife was terrified the entire time. Seriously thought she was going to die, especially when we had to back up about 200 yards on a technical section after we took a wrong turn. It felt like quite an accomplishment for me on my second day jeeping when we made it down.

Jeeping Colorado seems like a blast but what would be a good trail for a newbie with a lifted XJ? I don't want to kill it on my first outing.
