Dogfish Head Brewery and Brew Pub!!! And Grotto's Pizza is terrible IMHO. In Milford we have Gabriellas. That really good. Mamma Maria's is also good. In Gerogetown they have Capri's. There are many more pizzerias way better thn Grotto's. Really.

Amen. I think it's more the overall beach experience that convinces people that Grotto's pizza is so great.

Definitely agree on the Dogfish statement. Great food, great beer and awesome service tops it off. Then you could hang out around the beaches, visit local shops/restaurants, outlets (come on, tax free shopping!). Rehoboth is a clean and friendly town. Then there is a ton of history throughout the state, state parks, Fort Delaware, etc. Come join us!
If you like beer, then definitely Dogfish Head in Rehoboth. There are also a few other breweries in the state, such as Fordham (just off route 1 in Dover) and Iron Hill (chain brewpub restaurant with the original site in Newark on Main Street). There's also the Deer Park Tavern in Newark, a favorite haunt of Edgar Allan Poe.
The University of Delaware is also a beautiful school in any season, and well worth taking a walk around the campus (I would know-I spent 4 years there!).
If you're a gamer (as in board games, pen-and-paper RPG's, etc) then you HAVE to stop in Newark to the Days of Knights on Main Street. One of the best gaming shops I've ever been in.
There are also a few good state parks, as people have mentioned. Lums Pond, Killens Pond, and White Clay Creek are all great for hiking.
There really is quite a bit to do here. Most of us locals have just already done most of it!
In Rehoboth you have Dogfish Head. Really good beer, great service, good food!!, in Bear, DE you have Stewards, better than good beer (not the best IMHO), decent food, In Newark and in Wilmington you have Ironhill Brewpub with good beer and good food all around. Other breweries in Delaware are Twinlakes in the Brandywine area. Great beer and for a fee they give you an awesome tour of the brewery and tasters, Fordum Brewery in Dover (I have not been there yet), 16 Mile in Georgetown (fair to mideland) and Evolution in Dlemar which is decent. These are all the breweries and brewpubs I know in Delaware. Enjoy!!
