I like Dry dock... it is one step above home brewing (in the experimental, no holds barred kind of way) and Avery. Adam Avery has dome some very interesting things with fermented beverages the past few years and I applaud him for that.

If it's local, I like it. I try to get local beers when I travel. Back east is pitiful. In Boston you ask for a local brew and they had you a Sam Adams. It's like being served Coors as the intimate local beer...

I am seeing some mention of slightly out of Denver, but hey metro area right.

Yet another for Dry Dock. They are my local Homerew store too.

Avery.
Great Divide.

and a bit far south to be considered Denver, but Trinity in Colo Springs makes some amazing sours.

Just saw Beer Wars a few weeks ago. Very interesting and frustrating.

I've gotta say Dry Dock is the best local. Oskar Blues is pretty good too.

Saw Avery mentioned a few times. Can't say I've heard of that one.

Golden City Brewery on a summer afternoon is awesome. Love Dry Dock as well and Breck Brewery for some beer and BBQ down on Kalamath.
