North Carolinas Jeep, ATV & 4x4 Off-Road Park and Camping Carolina Backwoods
Depending on what close means to you this should work. I believe it right by myrtle beach.

The green swamp has miles and miles of dirt roads and some of them are rough and some of them have locked gates. You might want to find a map or take a GPS with you.

Ummm . . . it's farther than that to the southern tip of Hatteras making a straight line by boat. Driving there from Wilmington is about 4.5 hours to Nags Head.

I need to check out Green Swamp. Any trail maps out there? I assume much of it is legal?

It is mostly pine trees farmed by the paper company, thinking about it, it likely wouldn't be too challenging but might be interesting to just drive around.
I have a map but I can't remember where I got it from or where you can get one.

Sal, we went camping at Freeman Park last Monday night and all had a blast.
It was pretty quite, folks there but not too many.
We went back Sunday after Church and wow was it busy and the wind made it kind of cool. We almost turned around and left but decided to stay and had another good afternoon.
I didn't think to look for you yesterday, not sure I could have seen you anyway but will try to look for you next time.

Glad you had fun bro, I was at Uwharrie rock crawling this weekend. I probably won't hit the beach until the water temp comes up some.

yeah, the water is still too cool for me to go much over my knees. My kids both got in and my 7yo daughter was actually swimming.
We saw lots of folks on jet skis and a few tubing.
I'm thinking it is too cold for that.
