What was your first paying job?

What was your first paying job, and can you remember how much you were paid?

Mine was delivering bedroom furniture for "Sleep City" when I was 14 years old. The boss (my neighbor) paid me $2.00 per hour. After a month, he asked me to cut my hair at least up to my shoulders, and he would give me a $0.25 cent raise. Scissors were quickly found, and I got that raise.

I was a cook/dishwasher for Dale's Essenhaus.

Dale's Essenhaus Restaurant

It was a terrible job but I made good friends there. I need to call those people, it's been a while.

I cut lawns when I was younger on occasion, and I cleaned my grandmothers neighbors toilet as a kid (for a few bucks)

My first REAL job was at a place called 'Robeys Roast Beef' it was a hole in the wall joint that has changed owners many times over. I hated that place with a passion and promptly quit when I got another job with my aunt at the Ramada Inn. After she left... Wow, that place got bad.

Other than a paper route and lawn mowing, my first job was at 14, peeling potatoes at a restaurant for $1.50/hour.

Iron/Steel worker, straight outah high school when still 17 in '88. Birthday not until August 20. Paid $15 non-union and $22.50 union projects. Was extremely awesome money for such a young adult!! Love heights!

Elderly neighbors? Just trying to figure out the reasoning behind toilet cleaning of all things. Not trying being smartbatootie, truly wondering!

For ONLY .25 cents? Wow!! My long '80's hair was like gold to me and what an extra chic picker-upper LOL!
