I NEEDED a job badly and I got one at Chipotle. What a horrid place to work. I went in there today for lunch and its all the same people working there.
i wouldnt know. Chipotle was a last ditch effort to get rent paid. It worked well for the month I worked there. I don't deal with stupid very well and there was a lot of it in there.

I dated a girl 20 years ago who waitressed, and she made twice what a mechanic did, and slightly more than her older brother who was a lawyer.

I agree with both of the previous posts.
I still have a few friends who work in the industry, and they are all doing well.
I think it depends a lot on who you are and how you do it, my Brother just won an award from the president of IHOP, which I guess makes him more powerful then the POTUS, but it was based on his average ticket sales being significantly higher than his peers.
Started somewhere near age 17 or so working fast food.
Since I could eat a small horse at every meal, the gigs were good for the family budget.
Done some hauling (trucking) of food and products.

I have never worked in the food industry. I have always worked in a construction job or a mechanical/technical job. The food industry has never really interested me.
