Pepe's Cafe, Key West.

The eldest eating house in the Florida Keys.

A fairly good place, for quite a long while.

Open under old management.

My favorite restaurant, ever.

Ask Clark Whitt (ma?tre d?) about a horse eating a sugar cube out of your hand.
Please give me one good reason to visit Florida-pepes.jpg

Christ of the abyss!

Christ of the Abyss is a 8 1/2 foot, 4000 pound bronze sculpture of Jesus Christ that stands in 25 feet of water off of Key Largo, Florida.

It is located near Dry Rocks, about six miles east-northeast of the Key Largo Cut, in the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.

A good reason?
To appreciate how much you like the place you're living now and never want to move to Florida....
Don't give in to the hype, stay where you are now and you'll be much happier.

Yes dont give in to the hype, stay in a place where you have to shovel your vehicle out of the snow and put chains on your tires once you dig it out.....oh and dont forget to have enough gas in your car incase you slide off the interstate and get stuck in the snow for hours, you wouldnt want to freeze to death on the side of the road.Stay where you are.

I too have lived all over the country, and I too am on a quest to see all 50 states. So many of the responses are geared toward living here, but for just a visit I'd say Key West, Bush Gardens, or Kennedy Space Center are my top destinations (and there is always the natural wonders to see in any of these areas while there). I spent my New Jersey childhood enveying the well to do kids who got to go to Disney World on vacation, and I can tell you I was very disappointed when I went there as an adult.

This was a great question and I'm sure you have a long list from here. There are certainly places worthy of visiting and I hope you enjoy your trip.

Beaches

Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota. You will not find whiter softer sand any where. This beach consistently ranks among the top 5 in the world and the parking is still free. You can visit Sunday nights for an interesting display of musical talents, and anytime during the summer for beach volleyball tournaments...never a bad sight. And if you like the fish the Tarpon and snook can be landed in the early hours right off the beach before all the people arrive to scare them off.

Well, I'll probably repeat a lot of what was said, but here goes:

Pensacola: white beaches and Fort Pickens. Both great to visit. Naval Aviation museum at NAS Pensacola. A short drive to Biloxi, MS and their casinos. USS Alabama is only about an hour away. Great fishing.

Destin: Great fishing. Dont know much more about that area.

Tallahassee: The old capitol buildings are a great place to visit. Lots of history there.

St. Augustine: Oldest city in the US. Tons of history there.

The Space Coast: Kennedy Space Center

Orlando: Universal Studios and Disney World.

Clearwater: Great beaches and we have the original Hooters restaurant.

Also, Florida doesn't have a state income tax like most states do.

We'll also be getting a Lego Land in Winter Haven soon.
