the best recipe Egg nog???

Christmas is comming... so what is the best egg nog recipe according to you?

the stuff in the carton lol. i didnt know people actually made it. i friggen LOVE egg nog! its the reason i gain like 20 lbs over the christmas season...

OMG i get sick of it after about 3 glasses if i can choke down that many. My wife loves it and drinks it right out of the carton most of the time.

I love it, someone started putting out an eggnog ice cream and I can't resist it.

I love it too.. but I wouldnt drink more than a shot glass full! lol..

I have never had any with Liquor in it... is it good?

Egg Nog

I absolutely love egg nog. Thank the Lord the holidays only come around once a year...LOL...Here's a recipe I found somewhere on the "net" and have used for the last 10 years or so. It's so rich that it's one of those indescribable experiences. Don't get scared off by the recipe...I only do it once a year myself but it's really worth it.

No "store bought" for me...

Traditional Eggnog Ingredients

12 eggs, separated
6 cups milk
2 cups heavy/ thickened cream
2 cups bourbon
1+ 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup brandy
2 teaspoons fresh ground nutmeg

Traditional Eggnog Directions
In a large bowl and using a mixer, beat the egg yolks together with the sugar for approx 10 minutes (you want the mixture to be firm and the colour of butter).
Very slowly, add in the bourbon and brandy - just a little at a time.
When bourbon and brandy have been added, allow the mixture to cool in the fridge (for up to 6 hours, depending on how long before your party you're making the eggnog).
30 minutes before your guests arrive, stir the milk into the chilled yolk mixture.
Stir in 1+ 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg.
In a separate bowl, beat the cream with a mixer on high speed until the cream forms stiff peaks.
In yet another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the egg white mixture into the egg yolk mixture.
Gently fold the cream into the egg mixture.
After ladling into cups, garnish with the remainder of the ground nutmeg.

Serves: 8.

PS...This uses RAW eggs so if yer squeemish I'd pass on this one. No one has ever become sick since I started using this recipe...

Why did y'all have to start this thread. Now I am thinking about egg nog. And I want to thank Austin for informing me that there is egg nog ice cream lol.

...That's correct. They make egg separators too if it's hard for you to do. I use one because my hands are not really made for doin' stuff like that. I got it from Ebay...It looks like this one:
