Home Wine & Beer Makers

Anybody here make wine and/or beer at home?

I was pointed to this forum from the WineMakingTalk Forum, so here's a pointer to it, for those who are not familiar with it.

Never tried making wine, although I've had some very good homemade wines.

I attempted home brewing beer, with little success. I have met some more home brewers since that have helped me figure out what I did wrong and am itchin' to give a go at it again!

I made wine years ago in my bedroom. Now, I'm an Associate Winemaker at Fenn Valley Vineyards, Fenn Valley Vineyard and Wine Cellar I just inoculated about 5200 gallons of Vidal Juice yesterday with EPII yeast (Epernay II) which is a yeat we use to allow a slow and cool fermentation and able to stop it with residual sugar when we want. I offer my experience at winemaking for questions.

I make beer and what would probablly be called prison wine. Welch's concentrate and sugar with some moncharet yeast. The girls love it.

Making wine like that is how I did it back when I was a Junior in HS, 1970. Kept at it an now look where I'm at. LOL Be careful, hobbies can turn into jobs sometimes.

My wife got into it for a bit but then lost interest faster then a Dalkowski pitch.

Helped her along and it was quite fun but not much of a wine drinker myself.

Never made beer or wine, but some of my friends and I make hard cider every fall/winter.
