National Old Trails Road/ Ocean to Ocean Hwy

This historic trail was established as the US's FIRST Ocean to Ocean Hwy for automobiles back in 1912. Much of it followed the old Santa Fe Trail and old native American trade routes. It has been followed by other great historical routes as well, such as the historic and famous Route 66.

Here's a few pics of my day on the National Old trails Road. The last three pics are traces and hints of a WWII era US Army training encampment.

A trip following that road from one end to the other would be so interesting. Maybe some day if I can ever retire with savings, I do a trip like that.

Wouldn't it be fun though. Much of it is unpassable but a lot of it is paved and renamed Rt66 or other hwys. Man I wish I had the buckage to do it too.
